AI Governance Alliance – Resilient Governance and Regulation Working Group

Prof. Avv. Oreste Pollicino is part of the Resilient Governance and Regulation Working Group of the AI Governance Alliance, launched from the World Economic Forum in order to provide guidance on the responsible design, development and deployment of artificial intelligence systems. The initiative prioritizes three main areas: ensuring safe systems and technologies, promoting sustainable applications and transformation, and contributing to resilient governance and regulation, with the aim of accelerating the development of ethical guidelines and governance frameworks for generative AI and maximizing the economic and social value it can create.

Seminar: Intelligenza artificiale: etica, diritti e impatti sulla società nell’era di ChatGPT

On Wednesday, September 27th, Prof. Avv. Oreste Pollicino will join the Seminar "Artificial intelligence: ethics, rights and impacts on society in the ChatGPT era".
The Seminar, organized from Pro Bono Italy within the Pro Bono Roundtable, in collaboration with The Good Lobby Italy e I-Com, Institute for Competitiveness, will see the professor involved in a discussion on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on organizational forms of human lives, human rights and the world of work, where will be analyzed legal, etichal, technological and economic aspects of the phenomenon.

AI & Robotics Conference 2023

20 September 2023
On 20 September, Professor Oreste Pollicino will join the AI & Robotics Conference 2023, organized from Asso Lombarda with RTA ROBOTICS and SEA Vision within the celebrations of "Pavia Capitale della cultura d'impresa". During the event it will be discussed the ongoing technological revolution and the future scenarios of interaction between human beings, robots and new artificial intelligences. The Professor will participate in the panel dedicated to the legal approach to AI.

Fulbright Schuman Visiting Scholar Program

Prof. Avv. Oreste Pollicino will take part in the Fulbright Schuman Visiting Scholar Program in the coming academic year. The Professor has been awarded a Senior Emile Noël Research Fellowship and will spend the next academic year at New York University School of Law as the only Italian in this round. The Professor's research will focus on how to regulate artificial intelligence on both sides of the Atlantic, but also on how to implement legally effective control of online disinformation and the spread of fake news.

Talk to the future

Prof. Avv. Oreste Pollicino is part of the institutional table on Artificial Intelligence and Justice, chaired by Avv. Antonino La Lumia, President of the Milan Bar Association. On 12 July, during 'Talk to the Future', an event organised by the Order, the working group will be presented within the book discussion on Father Paolo Benanti's book, 'Human in the Loop. Human Decisions and Artificial Intelligence'. Avv. Giuseppe Vaciago will coordinate the group, which will be formed by Prof. Giovanni Ziccardi, Prof. Edoardo Raffiotta, and Dr. Anna Corrado.

Prof. Oreste Pollicino will take part in the “Doctoral Showroom” organised by the University of La Sabana, Colombia. The event aims to allow participating students to attend lectures with international academics, share networking spaces with professors and colleagues and present their research projects. The Professor will take part in the conference together with Prof. Erin F. Delaney, Pritzker School, Northwestern University, Prof. Lewis A. 2023 Digital Constitutionalism School

26-28 June 2023 

From 26 to 28 June, Prof. Avv. Oreste Pollicino will take part in the second edition of the '2023 Digital Constitutionalism School'. The School aims to create a multi-stakeholder environment in which different figures in the fields of law, sociology, technology and economics can exchange views and opinions. The idea was conceived within the research group 'Algorithmic State, Market and Society'. The School is jointly hosted by the University of Florence (Italy), the European University Institute (Florence, Italy), Bocconi University (Milan, Italy) and the Católica Global School of Law (Lisbon, Portugal).
