On 30 May, Prof. Avv. Oreste Pollicino will take part in the webinar presenting the “LL.M. in Law of Internet Technology”, of which he is Director, at the University “L. Bocconi” of Milan. The event, in addition to providing information to those wishing to enrol for the 2023-2024 academic year of the course, is an opportunity to analyse the issues of greatest interest in the world of law and new technologies, namely the regulation of Artificial Intelligence, digital markets, media and services. The webinar will be addressed by Dr. Giuseppe Abbamonte, European Commission, Avv. Carmelo Fontana, Google, Prof. Mariateresa Maggiolino, Bocconi University, Prof. Teresa Rodriguéz De Las Heras Ballell, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Prof. Avv. On 18 May, Prof. Avv. Oreste Pollicino will take part in the Lectio of Dr. Nunzia Ciardi, Deputy Director General of the National Cybersecurity Agency. The doctor will analyse the main issues related to cybersecurity in the presence of the students of the LL.M. in Law of Internet Technology, in whose sphere the meeting was organised. The Professor, who is Director of the course, will give the conclusions.

On 5 May, Prof. Avv. Oreste Pollicino will speak at the event “AI: power without control? Dialogue on artificial intelligence” organised at the Shoah Memorial in Milan by the non-profit organisation of the same name. The aim is to establish a dialogue around the ethics of artificial intelligence, without giving in to dystopias. Together with the Professor, Avv. Luna Bianchi, Advocacy & Lobby of Privacy Network and Dr. Antonello Taurino, lecturer, will discuss.

On 5 May, Prof. Avv. Oreste Pollicino will present on “Fake News” during the training days on “Freedom of Speech in the Digital Era” for judges and staff of the European Court of Human Rights.
The event will take place at the “Hamburg Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection”, in Hamburg, and it has been organized within the “EJTN” project. The training sessions will consist of addressing issues ranging from freedom of expression on matters related to the judiciary to the freedom of expression of members of the judiciary, and in general freedom of expression in the digital era.

On 4 May 2023, Prof. Avv. Oreste Pollicino will take part as moderator in "The AI effect: Artificial Intelligence and privacy. Opportunities and challenges of data protection in the digital society'. Prof. Avv. Oreste Pollicino will take part in the next “Privacy Symposium” that will take place in Venice from 17 to 21 April 2023.
The Conference aims to support international dialogue, cooperation, and knowledge sharing on data protection, compliance, and innovative technologies. The conference will gather top-level experts and authorities to discuss the latest developments and the future evolution of data protection regulations. The Professor will be the Keynote speaker in the Plenary Session of the Conference on "Balancing Digital Rights in the European Constitutional Framework". He will also be speaking on "Digital Privacy New Deal" - Data Valorisation and Monetisation, Balancing Fundamental Rights and Freedoms".

On 14 April 2023, Prof. Avv. Oreste Pollicino will speak as a keynote speaker on the topic "A Digital Europe for Citizens. Constitutional and Policymaking Challenges" at the 1st International Conference organized by the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto. The Conference is part of the DigEuCit project and aims to analyze the topics of data governance, digital markets and digital services. In addition to the Professor's speech, numerous eminent national and international speakers are expected to participate.
